Carter enjoyed sitting in his Bumbo and playing with his toys this afternoon. He's figured out how to make the music play, and he looks like he's concentrating very hard!

He's been holding his head up pretty good lately, too. He starts to get mad pretty quick though. Take a look.

And if once wasn't enough... here is another. He was really enjoying sitting in his Bumbo before I turned the camera on, then he got a little tired of holding his head. And who does he cry for? MAMA! What an advanced child we have. Needless to say, Eric is fairly certain that Carter was not saying "Mama." You be the judge. =)

Why do babies do this? Carter fights it so bad when he's tired. He's always trying to keep his eyes open, smiles, and moves his mouth all funny.

Mommy's Night Out

So my friend Emily is getting married next weekend, and this past weekend was her bachelorette party. This was really the first time I left Carter behind to go "party." We met at the Hilton in Southlake, at dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, then went out on the town in a Hummer Limo. I was good - I only had 2 drinks, because I had a loooong drive home. And Daddy took good care of the little man while I was away. It was so much fun... here are a few of my favorite pics from the night.

Happy Father's Day, Daddy!!

Eric had a good first Father's Day today....
We spent the morning at home, then went to the mall to pick out a new watch for our Daddy. Then we met up with family at Cantina Laredo for dinner. Dinner was good, gifts were great. Little Carter did pitch a GIGANTIC hissy fit at the restaurant, though. He was so loud... everyone was staring. Poor baby, he was just SO tired. Here are a few cute pictures from the day.

Carter's 2 Month Check-Up

We took Carter this morning for his 2 month check up. This little booger has grown! He is now 10 lbs, 6 ounces, and 23 1/2 inches long. He's in the 25th percentile for weight, and the 90th percentile for his length. He has gained 2 lbs, 12 oz and 1 3/4 inches since his 1 month check up! WOW!

Two Years Ago Today...

Eric and I are celebrating our 2 year anniversary today! I can't believe how fast it's gone by. Two years ago today was a wonderful, perfect day, and I'm so grateful for every day since. Here's to many more... love you Eric!!

It's been a little while since I last blogged. Carter has really started to be so much more alert the last few weeks. His little personality is coming out a lot these days. With in the last week or so he has started to grin and coo at Eric and me a lot. He has certain times of the day when he seems to be in such a good mood (in the morning and after bathtime mostly). It's getting easier and easier to get a smile out of him... it used to be so much work! Here are a few cute pictures I got of him today, and a really sweet video I know you'll all enjoy!

We had a pretty good weekend. Friday night we met David & Stasha and Ashlee & De'Mhetric at Johnny G's in Lewisville for Cajun food. Of course, Carter and Olivia came with us. We had total strangers coming up to us asking about Carter and Olivia, how old they were, if they were related, if they could hold them, etc. I guess that's what you get when there isn't just one cute baby, but two! We had a lot of fun, though. Then on Saturday morning, Eric and I participated in our community garage sale. Since cleaning out Carter's room in January, we've had our garage junked up with so many things that we wanted to sell. We made close to $350, and the rest we took to Goodwill. So I'm glad to have the extra money and the extra space! Saturday afternoon and evening we spent watching movies and relaxing. Yesterday Eric's grandparents came over for a visit. Some of their friends were in town from Houston, so they came with them to see Carter. We all went to lunch at Babe's in Frisco. So not good for my diet... but SOOOOO good! I could eat there everyday. It was a great lunch and a good visit.

Speaking of my diet, as of this morning, I have lost 34 lbs since I had Carter.... I only have about 12 left to lose to be at my pre-pregnancy weight. Not too bad for only 7 weeks out.

So today is a sad day for me because I pulled all of Carter's Newborn size clothes out of the drawers and put them in boxes to be stored. I'm so sad my baby can't wear them anymore! There are a few he can still squeeze into... but probably for just a few more days. He's officially in 0-3 month stuff now.

I'll try not to let another 2 weeks pass by before I post again!
