Dizzy

Why does every kid think it's fun to make themselves dizzy?!

(Listen for Carter's word 'o the week at the end when he points to the electronics under the TV. I'm thrilled that he's using this all the time now..... not really!)

HATS!

Carter hasn't ever been one to keep a hat on his head for ANY amount of time. Earlier this week Carter and I were shopping at TJ Maxx for some Ranger's gear for Eric when I ran across the CUTEST little Ranger's ball cap in a toddler size. When I showed it to him, he immediately grinned really big and said "Haaa." I put it on his head with little hope that he would actually keep it on, but to my surprise, he did! He wore it around the whole time while we continued to shop. So of course I had to get it for him..... it was only $6 bucks! Anyway, since then he has developed a love for wearing his hats around the house. He seriously looks so grown up!

Brand new hat.... tags are still on!
Daddy wanted him to wear his Tennessee hat
Go Vols!

Mom, Mommy, Mama, Ma

This clip is from an episode of Family Guy, and I've always thought was just hilarious.

When Carter was doing this in the car yesterday, I couldn't help but laugh! LOVE hearing this little guy call for me though, even if it is repetitive! =)

15 Month Check Up

Carter got yet another A+ from Dr. Nail today! He now weighs 24lb 2oz and is 32.3 inches long! That the 50th percentile for weight and the 90th percentile for height. Carter has consistently been in the 80-90% for his height, and Dr. Nail said he will likely be over 6 feet tall. It's so neat to know that now when he's so young! He fought the physical exam and hated the shots, but that's to be expected! So everything went really well. We go back again at 18 months!

Carter's First Kiss!

Carter shared his first kiss with the adorable Miss Olivia yesterday. It was sooooo funny. I said, "Carter, can you give Olivia a kiss?" They each immediately just looked at each other and went right in for it! Oh my, we all just about died laughing... we were NOT expecting them to do it! Here are a few different pictures I got..... and also a video. What little sweeties!

The first kiss of several to come!
Olivia with an open mouth, Carter with his eyes shut...
Maybe they're enjoying this too much?!

Fun With David, Stasha, & Olivia

Our good friends David & Stasha came over today for some pool time, grillin', and just hanging out. You may remember that their daughter, Olivia, was born the day after Carter. They had a lot of fun playing together all day today, and the parents had fun visiting and playing the Wii. Here are a few pictures I was able to snap today. It's hard to get good shots of these active little toddlers!!

Loving the water!
A wagon ride home after some fun at the pool.
Let's play!
What a sweet, precious girl. LOVE the pigtails!

Ready to play some more after our naps.

A Knot on the Noggin

Carter fell this morning and hit his forehead on the corner of one of our end tables. It gave him quite a knot and a big bruise. He's had small knots and bruises before from slipping in the bathtub.... but NOTHING like this. My poor little baby boy! I think it looks a lot worse in person than it does in these pictures.

Mom's lap, a little milk, and our lovey to help us feel better =(

Feeling better, but looking worse!

Carter's First Baseball Game

We took Carter to the Rough Rider's game tonight... it was his first baseball game of many, I'm sure! Eric's friend, Travis, is in town, so he came too.  We got tickets in the outfield so we could sit on a blanket, watch the game, and let Carter have the freedom to play as he wanted. BEST way to go! He had SO SO SO much fun playing by the fence, walking up and down the (very steep) hill, snacking, playing with a few toys, and watching all the older children run around.  We even made it on the big screen! I was worried it was going to be meltdown city pretty quick after we got there because Carter refused to take his afternoon nap... which meant his only nap for the day had been from about 10:45-12:30pm. Even with the heat, he did so well and was such a little trooper right up until the end. Here are some pictures of our fun night!

HOT from the walk in.... need a sip of water!
Fun with Daddy!

Trying to master the hill, but feeling more comfortable on level ground!

We decided to move down  by the fence.... much better!

A tired boy... had to break out his lovey at the end of the game. He was POOPED!

15 Months Today!

Today Carter turns 15 months old! That is CRAZY to me! We had a really good day. After nap, we went and palyed with some friends for a while and had lunch at Chick-Fil-A. After all that, we went to Half Price Books where I got so many cute new books for the little man. As you know, Carter is quite the little book worm! Look at Carter enjoying all his new books!

Also, one of his new things is throwing his head backwards and laughing when he hears anyone else laugh. I don't know where he got this, but it's so funny! This Belly Button Book has a belly button that when pushed, is a little child giggling. This might be Carter's new favorite book!

Also, today Carter wore his new Crocs for the first time, and I thought they were just adorable on him. He loved them so much, he just walked all over the house looking down at his feet. I'm pretty sure he thought he was a big shot with his cool new shoes on!

So here is what my little buddy is up to at 15 months:
  • Loves a variety of healthy foods.... especially strawberries, nectarines, yogurt, bananas, chicken, ham, green beans, pinto beans, and spaghetti. We're working on the veggies, but he is doing SO much better!!
  • Walking everywhere all the time. I see him crawl very little these days.
  • Still taking two naps a day (for the most part), a morning and afternoon nap. Not sure if he'll EVER drop that morning one permanently.... we'll see.
  • Absolutely loves being outside.... especially in the pool or at the splash park (you can tell by his little tan and bleached blonde hair!) This boy is a WATER BUG!!
  • Now has 8 teeth (4 bottom, 4 top), two of which just cut through yesterday!
  • Trying to talk up a storm. He has so many words that he says now.... and about half of these he has picked up in the last two weeks or so. He says ball, uh-oh, dog, Dada, Mama, more, book, baby, milk, juice, snack (nack), bath, thank you (taytu), hi, bye-bye, Nana, banana (also nana), ouch (ow), night night (ni ni), tete (guess who taught him this one... it WASN'T Mommy) duck, and his first sentence... What's that? (sounds like 'uhsah'). He says this mostly when pointing to things or when he hears something new.
  • Loves to carry things in his bucket or his pail. He will load up one of these with small toys and carry it all over the house.
  • Still loving his books as much as ever.
  • Can do several animal noises (dog, cat, cow, chicken, bumble bee, horse, and snake... kinda) and can point out his eyes, nose, tongue, ears, and belly button.
  • LOVES playing with is uncles, grandparents, and cousins, and of course, all his little baby friends!!
We go to the doctor next week for his check up, and I'm very curious to know all his stats. I'll definitely post all that once we go!! It's weird to think, but my little baby is definitely a full fledged toddler!!

Swim Lessons

Carter started his twice a week swim lesson on Wednesday. Eric went with us this morning to check it all out, and was able to take some pictures. Carter loves it at times, and hates it at times, depending on what we're doing. He's not a fan of floating on his back, or monkey walking along the wall. But, he LOVES to blow bubbles and kicking his feet. Here are some pictures and video Eric took this morning.

Kicking and "swimming" to the wall.Blowing bubbles in the water.
Monkey walking along the wall to the toy.Taking a break for a quick pic. (That's Coach Stephanie in the background) Enjoying the water toys.

Next week we'll have to do some dunks under water! That one has me kind of freaked out.

Fun Family Day

We actually had plans to spend some time with friends today, but that had to be cancelled last minute. So Eric and I woke up this morning all bummed that we had nothing to do, and didn't really want to spend it around the house... but the weather was gross, so we couldn't spend it outside. We decided to go downtown. We had lunch at one of Eric's favorite places, Spaghetti Warehouse, and then went to the Dallas World Aquarium. Carter hasn't been to the zoo yet, so it was interesting to see him react to all the plants and animals. Here are some pictures from our fun day!

We sat in the train car at Spaghetti Warehouse. Carter loved sitting next to the window and laughing at his reflection the whole time!
He's really interested in forks now, and starting to get the hang of it!
Working hard on the fork thing
Holding on tight!
Waiting patiently in line outside the aquarium.
Now we're having fun!
Finally in and to the first exhibit
Seeing the sights from atop Daddy's shoulders.... just about the only way Carter could see above all the crowd!
Great pic of the two of them!
I love this little guy!
Carter loved the fish tanks the most of all.

Look... fish!
More fish gazing...
Ohh.... BIG turtle. This kind of scared him, along with all the other really big swimmers.
He got very nervous when all the big things would swim close to the glass.
The flamingos! Always been one of my favs
Last exhibit of the day.... and showing. Carter was a tired boy by now!
Have to have one last pic with Mommy.
Passed out in the car after a fun but tiring day downtown!!

PS: Notice Eric's new haircut? Courtesy of me... I shaved his head this morning! He said he was done fighting the hair loss... HAHA! I actually like it though.... it's definitely growing on me!
