We took Cole yesterday morning for his 1 month visit. He's now 8 pounds, 13 ounces and 21 1/2 inches long. He's gained 1.2 pounds and 1 inch in the last 2 weeks! Growing good, but I kinda wish he would stop! :( Anyway, he's staying awake a little more these days, sleeping in 5-6 hour stretches at night, and has pretty good head control! Still rolling from tummy to back occasionally, too. We've gotten a few smiles, and he's definitely trying to do more of that, as well as coo-ing a little. He had to get a shot today, and that was pretty heartbreaking. Hate that red-faced, pitiful pouty cry! Anyway, we'll be back in a month for another visit!
Carter went on his first field trip to the pumpkin patch today with kindergarten. This is the pumpkin patch at our church, so he's been here before, but this time he got to have a science, social studies and math lesson, along with craft time, story time, and a fun hayride with friends! I was able to join them for most of the morning (Cole, too... he slept on my chest the entire time!), and I just loved seeing Carter in a classroom environment.
Science lesson.
Will a pumpkin float? Why or why not? What else floats?
Searching for "p" words in the hay maze
Carter found the word "play"
Carter and his little buddy (and our neighbor), Jackson picnicing
Carter's entire class
During the math lesson, the kids got to pair up and weigh pumpkins on a scale!
All the kids had a great day. Carter said his favorite part was "riding
on the school bus! ....well actually, all of it!" He was very excited to
ride on a real school bus for the first time, though! I enjoyed
getting to know some of the kids in his class that he's always talking
about. :) Thanks to my Mom for staying with Ella so I could go and enjoy! Fun day!!
We had a little park playdate today with some of Ella's little friends to celebrate her birthday. My mom made a Queen Elsa dress cake out of cupcakes that everyone loved, especially the birthday girl, and the kids enjoyed a couple of hours of playtime in the wonderful weather!
My pretty little 3 year old!
Love that face
Ella and some of her friends
Ella enjoyed her time with her friends.... thanks so much for coming, guys!!
We finally made it to the church's pumpkin patch last night! The kids had fun running around, bouncing in the bounce houses, playing in the hay maze, and picking pumpkins. Of course, I had to dress them in their festive Halloween shirts, and Cole in his cute pumpkin outfit! Fun family night!
Looks like we're going really fast! We definitely weren't. :)
Cole was very relaxed most of the evening, but especially on the hayride in Daddy's arms. He definitely seemed to enjoy being outside in the fresh air. Luckily, the weather was perfect... great temps and hardly any wind!
Brother snuggles and sad sister.... she wanted to hold Cole.
Cole had his 2 week check up last Monday the 13th. He was 7 pounds 11 ounces (up from 6.14 at birth), and 20 1/2 inches long (grew half an inch)! It's crazy to me that he grew that much in just 2 weeks!! I went back and looked, and Carter gained 6 ounces in the first two weeks of life, and Ella, only 3 ounces. Cole gained 13 ounces!! I'm telling you, this boy can EAT! He didn't have to have any shots, so it was a quick and easy visit for the little man. We'll be back next week on Monday for his 1 month check up, and I'm anxious to see how much more he's grown! I think he'll be over 9 pounds by then.
Then this past Monday, Ella had her 3 year check up. She was 31 pounds even, and 36 1/3 inches tall. She's gained 6 1/2 pounds and 3 1/3 inches in the last year. She's still a small little thing, but growing wonderfully! I always love to look back at their previous numbers and see their growth. :) Of course, she is socially and developmentally thriving. Dr. Nail made a comment about her wonderful vocabulary and clear speech! He also asked her where she got all her beautiful red hair from, and he response was, "Ummmmmm, my mommy's mommy!" That made me laugh! Smart girl!
Here are a few pictures of Cole at 2 weeks.
Think he looks a little bit like his brother?!
I mean, come on!
Loved that he grabbed my hand and held it to fall asleep.
He's becoming a fan of the pacifier. But only these soothie kinds, all others can take a hike!
I've been enjoying all the snuggles I can get.
Beautiful boy!
Full back seat! Look closely and you can see a distorted image of Cole in the little mirror - his paci mostly! HA!
So tired he can't even keep the paci in. Rough life.
And here are a few pictures of Ella on her birthday.
Ella after she hit up the desert bar at her birthday brunch.
HA!
Sleeping beauty, hair and all!
Breakfast the morning of her birthday. Yum!!
A little morning cartoons with Cole before she heads to school
Love this picture.
We got Ella a Barbie Power Wheel for her birthday. Here she is when we surprised her with it.
She obviously loves it! Since they each have one now, we took them for a spin to the neighborhood park and back.
Parking in the handicap spot?
Here's a fun Google video :)
I've been taking mostly cell phone pictures lately, and have accumulated a ton over the last few weeks. I need to sift through them, and I'll be posting them soon!
I'm a wife to Eric, and a Mommy to Carter, Ella & Cole, the most precious gifts we have ever received. I use this blog mainly as a digital scrapbook to keep track of our family happenings and the kids' milestones, but also to keep you in the loop! Enjoy!!
