2010 Recap

As I sit down to write this blog and go through pictures, I realize two things. First, we are BUSY. We've done a lot in just one short year, and it's a lot to capture. Second, we take TONS of pictures!! I have too many favorites and it makes it hard to chose! We have had a fantastic 2010, and are hoping for all that plus some in 2011!

January

We start our year off by going to visit new baby Lila at the hospital.

Daddy turns 29 on the 30th! ♥ you Daddy!

Carter and Stormie have definitely bonded!

February 

Lots of first this month! First hair cut!

First REAL snow

First time in his big boy carseat 

Starts crawling!

March

We're still trying to get used to having a mobile baby.... nothing is safe!

 Carter cuts his first two teeth on the same day.... his 11 month birthday!!

This requires lots of paci, snuggling, and teething tablets. =(

(Yes, he was ELEVEN months when he cut his first teeth... haha!)

 We all celebrate St. Patty's Day by wearing green!

April

First Easter as a family

 My big boy turns ONE!!

Carter has his one year photo shoot at the Dallas Arboretum!

May

Mommy and Daddy take a Caribbean cruise!

Travis and Amanda get married!

 First of MANY trips to the pool!

Mommy and Carter celebrate Memorial Day at Nana and Grandad's since Daddy was out of town working.

June

Carter (finally) starts walking!

Many trips are taken to the pool and splash park.

 Carter becomes a true "water baby"

July

We visit the Dallas World Aquarium... Carter LOVES it!

 We take Carter to a Rough Riders Game... his first baseball game!

Carter completes a month of swimming lessons!

Such a big boy... I'm so proud!

Mommy and Daddy visit Travis and Amanda in D.C. and do lots of sight seeing!

August

We take a wonderful family vacation to Grand Cayman... Carter's first trip!

September

Carter goes to the zoo for the first time.

Start of (a not so great) football season. We're still loyal fans... Go Cowboys!

 Mommy turns 26!

 We enjoy the Plano Balloon Fest

 Carter has some fun park playdates with buddies Mason and Gavin

October

We visit many a pumpkin patch!

We head over to Ruston, LA to visit Eric's Alma Mater... Carter's first trip to another state!

 

Rangers go to the World Series for the first time!

Happy Halloween! Carter is Superman and goes trick-or-treating!

November

We head to Austin to visit Andrew and go to a Longhorn football game!

Mommy and Daddy go to the Cowboy game on Thanksgiving Day.

 Thanksgiving weekend we manage to squeeze in lots of outside time and quality time with cousins!

 

December

We start the last month of the year off by going to Austin for a wedding

Carter and Mason get into more trouble together! 

 And last but not least, all the Christmas celebrations with family!

Carter enjoyed opening and playing with all his fun new things. We are truly blessed!!

Happy New Year!

Two days late, but Happy New Year to all of you! We had a mellow but fun NYE this year. A few close friends came over and we spent the afternoon and evening BBQing, watching football, and sitting around the outside fire just visiting and enjoying ourselves. Since it's legal out here in the boonies, we shot some fireworks off, too! The adults enjoyed it, but I have to say, I'm pretty sure we traumatized not only our son (who clung to my neck, wrapped his legs around me, and screamed "NO! NO! NO!" with tears streaming down his face), but we traumatized our dog aswell. We were out front shooting a few off around 8:00, when we noticed Stormie had wandered. About that time I got a call on my cell phone from a neighbor asking if we were missing a dog. Stormie had wandered to her house about 3 blocks away. She never even leaves our driveway, so this was a very strange thing for her to do. When we got her back she was acting all shaken and nervous, so we figured the fireworks were too much to handle and she didn't know what to do so she took off! Thankful for my sweet neighbor! We might skip the fireworks next year. =)

 On to fireworks. He was just "okay" with the sparklers. He sure is eyeing it though.
