More busyness

Ella took her first dip in the backyard baby pool one day while Carter was at school. She loved it!!
 Cute little ruffle bum

Loving on their doggy on the way to a baseball game
Yep, I'm dreaming of vacation, too!
 Love my high-swinging boy.
Ella wanted Carter to push her on the big girl swing, and he did, happily!
He pushed her 100 times, literally... he counted them all!

 Enjoying a rain storm.

 And being very silly!
Carter had his kindergarten visit this past week. He was nervous to start, but had a few neighborhood buddies there, and felt better knowing that. He seemed to enjoy it! And I'm not sure how I feel about all this. Excited for my boy, but so, so sad for me. :( Definitely a bittersweet feeling! But we still have a few months before it's all official, so I'll relish that time, then probably cry all of August!
Me and this girl have enjoyed lots of time at the park!
And she was excited to go with me this week to pick out her big girl bedding for her big girl bed that is coming very soon!!
 Blurry, but love that smile!!
Carter has really improved his reading lately, and loves to read his bedtime books to us. This is him reading to Eric one morning before he left for work.

Spring-time Busyness.

We've managed to keep busy this spring!! Only a few weeks left of school before the carefree days of summer, and I am soooo looking forward to that, though I'm sure we'll continue to keep ourselves plenty busy! Here is a little bit of what we've been up to lately.

We've made our annual trip to the Dallas Zoo

 Sweeties

 My little map navigator

Carousel ride.... Carter picked the eagle

 Ella chose the elephant

They walked the flamingos around the zoo for "excercise", and we ran into them a few times.

 Lol!

Ella had her first dentist appointment in April!

Carter had an appointment too, but it's old hat for him now! He was really sweet walking in with Ella, holding her hand and comforting her, because he just knew that she'd be scared (she wasn't, she was excited!!)
Both kiddos relaxed and watched their movie.

A little tense, but she made it through wonderfully!! And she loved that she got to pick her flavors. Of all the choices they had, she picked marshmallow and cherry, just like her big brother :)
Ella and I have had many shopping and Starbucks dates while Carter is at school

Eric and I took a short trip to Natchez, Mississippi for a friend's wedding. Very pretty town and a fun little weekend getaway for the two of us! The wedding was on the grounds of a Plantation, and it was so gorgeous! The weather couldn't have been any more perfect.

The ceremony was on the front steps of the house.
The house from the side.
 The lawn.
We actually played croquet here!
The biggest and most gorgeous magnolia tree I've ever seen!
It is almost 250 years old!

Enjoying our coffee on the amazing wrap-around porch.
Me and my 20 week baby belly. :)
Fancy for the wedding. I can't believe Eric and I didn't get a picture of the two of us. He was wearing a tux for goodness sake! :(

More to come in another post! Like I said, we've been busy!! :)

Bump-Date and Sono Pics

I had a doctor's appointment and sonogram earlier this week. We decided not to find out the gender, and the kids seem to be okay with that so far, but since they won't be able to have that information to prepare the next few months, I thought maybe if we took them and they each got to see some good pictures of the baby, that would be fun for them. And it was! They both thought it was pretty neat, and the sono tech really involved them in showing them all sorts of things..... face, hands, feet, spine, heart and heart beat, even close ups of the mouth, lips, and chin. The first face shot that she got looked a little like a skeleton, and I made the mistake of saying to Carter, "It looks like the bones of a skeleton in that picture, doesn't it?" and Ella said, "Ohhhh, that's scary!" That made us giggle. We definitely don't need her thinking the baby is going to come out looking like that! Whoops! :/ But, very happy to say the everything looks perfect, baby is very healthy, and we got lots of good shots to take home! She didn't even peek at gender parts, so no one knows at all!!

We've been talking a little bit about names lately, but not knowing if we're having a boy or girl has definitely made it harder. We have several on each list, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens. Been feeling pretty good lately, just fighting fatigue and headaches. Other than that, chugging right along and preparing myself for a very warm 3rd trimester this summer! Yikes!

Here are some recent pictures of me, and pictures of sonogram day.

 18 weeks

19 weeks
20 weeks and big sis with bed head!!
A couple of sonogram pictures.....
Baby from the side
 Baby feet!!
The sono tech gave Carter a long strip of pictures, and he treats them like they're his prized possession. He fell asleep on the way home from the doctor admiring them! Sweet boy.
