Summertime pics - Week 1

With lots of fun activities already on our summer calendar, it's going to be a busy one, for sure! I'm going to try to keep up with picture posting by doing it weekly again this year. The week of June 1st was Ella's first week of summer, and Carter's last week of school. So not our "official" first week of summer, but close enough to include!

My cute boys
Cole and Grace are all smiles while their big sisters play!
 How cute are they?!
 Ella enjoying a creamsicle. Mmmmm
On the walk back from Carter's school one morning, Ella claimed her "legs were tired." I was pushing the single stroller and definitely wasn't going to carry her, so I told her to sit in the bottom basket, and that worked perfectly! It made me giggle, but she loved the ride.
Cole enjoying the swings while Ella played with a friend at the park. He's the best little tag-along!

Cole's mobility is definitely not lacking! He pulls up on everything, walks along the sides of things while holding on with sometimes only one arm, and he's started to attempt to climb things. He keeps us all on our toes, and I'm glad to have 2 extra pairs of eyes home this summer to help keep him in line... HA! Here is was trying to climb over the arm of the sofa to reach a remote!
 Pool baby!
Cole's love for Stormie grows by the day. This morning in particular he was fascinated with her, and Carter and I kept repeating "dog, dog".... and then Cole mimics "da." I'd venture to say he was definitely repeating and associating the word with her. Carter was so impressed and so proud.... he almost couldn't believe it.

Cruising through Target after swim lessons one day. Notice Cole in the bottom of the basket. I had to put him there because he kept turning around and STANDING UP in the top seat part, all WHILE he was buckled in! What a little escape artist he is right now!
New hat, swim diapers, and pool toys for this cute little swimmer baby. Getting prepared for a great summer!
Ella loves wearing long dresses almost exclusively for the fact that when she walks down the stairs in them, they drag. Like the train on a Elsa's dress. I think it's adorable that she is so obsessed with that. It's hilarious to watch her walk down the stairs with her dress dragging, and dramatically pretend that she is royalty entering a room. She has quite the imagination!!

This is going to be his summer time lunch spot! Looks pretty perfect to me!
On Carter's last day of school, we squeezed in a quiet swim with Ella's little friend Eden. Glad these two got some pool time in before the masses hit the pool this summer. Not that that will deter them, they're both water babies, and LOVE to be around all the big kids!!

Our neighborhood had it's summer kick off pool party and cook out last weekend. What fun everyone had swimming, bouncing on the bounce house, and enjoying hot dogs and snow cones. I love that all these great kiddos get to socialize outside of school at fun events like this!

Cole was a chick magnet for all the little girls.
 Fun!
 Loving it!

Carter's friend, Eme (Eden's big sis), was smitten by Cole, and he loved her too! Peekaboo for the win!
Cole now thinks he needs in on whatever the big kids are doing. So he helped himself to some markers.

Attempting to push the walker... won't be long! He's so close!

Another lunch in the stroller at the pool, and string cheese on his lip. Yes, this happens a lot when you wolf down your food!!
He loves to stick his tongue out lately. Pretty adorable.
The kids played in the sprinkler and with water balloons one day with Eric while I ran errands.
Cole didn't miss any of the action

Haha! He does not know what to think of this weird, disappearing squishy thing!

More fun to come this week! :)

Final Days of Kindergarten

A week before school got out, the school held their final Celebration of Learning assembly. Carter had perfect attendance for the ENTIRE year, so he was recognized for that!
(He's standing up in the middle with the blue shirt on)
Also, his teacher chose two students (a boy and a girl) to receive this 9 weeks character award for fairness. He did not know he was going to get it, but we did :)
He was very proud, as he should be! I'm glad to know that he's always treating his peers fairly and with respect.
The awards are just rolling in here at the end of the year! So proud of him!

Carter's class got to do the announcements on the second to last week of school. Here is a picture of them on the TV that Carter's teacher sent.

Eric was a Watch Dog (a Dad volunteer for the entire school for one full day -- basically, they put him to work!) Carter has been waiting for Eric to be a Watch Dog all year.... he was so excited to have Eric there!

Two boys off to school!
(Eric was beat when they got home that day! Lots of hard work goes into helping and teaching so many kids each day!)
Eric was introduced as the Watch Dog on the announcements.

Another one of the awards Carter received last week as a positive referral from his teacher. This is where they get to go to the principal/asst. principals office to be recognized because they've done something positive. That was a fun phone call to get from the assistant principal telling me she had Carter in her office... ha! Almost gave me a heart attack!

He was recognized on the announcements for it, and we joined them in the library to watch :)
The second to last day of school they had their end of year parties. A BMX stunt show came to put on a show for the whole school in the parking lot in the morning. Ella had swim lessons, so we weren't able to go to that portion of it. But in the afternoon they had snow cones and popcorn out in the courtyard, and we joined them for that.
Sweet boy sharing with his sis

Then Carter's teacher took her to get her own
The same evening, kindergarten families got together for a 'Goodbye Kindergarten' picnic. Each grade level does this, and we had a awesome turn out (175+) for a fun tradition! Great school, great community, great people our kids will grow up knowing, love it all!

Playtime first

Then dinner time
A picture of all the kindergarteners was almost impossible. This is the best I got. Carter is near the top of the slide, behind the little girl in the red shirt.
After a fun last day of school, we were invited to a neighbors house to swim. Ready to jump in, some with their clothes on. :)
 Go!
 :)
 These boys had fun!!

They must've jumped in 100 times!
Love this!

After our swim with the boys, we headed back down the alley to our house. Carter loved the message he found on the garage door!
(Eric and a friend brewed beer this afternoon, so ignore all the brew stuff!)
And we had a basket full of water balloons waiting. Which meant water fight!

 He got me!
