Carter turned 6 today!! We celebrated yesterday with my family, and today, just the 5 of us. Here are some pictures from the last couple of days celebrating our guy.
Here Carter is reading The Three Bears to Cole (a gift from his great-grandparents). Cole was really wanting that book, and he chased Carter all over the living room floor trying to get it. He's become quite the army crawler lately!
We let Carter open a gift he received in the mail from his grandparents.
He was excited to get some new lego sets!
Getting to work on them right away.
We went to my parents house later on Sunday for dinner and presents. They set up a fun scavenger hunt to Carter to find his gifts. Here he is reading his first clue.
.....and finding his first gift, a lego table!
another clue....
....another gift!
My mom cooked Carter's favorite meal... steak, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and black eyed peas! Yum!
Silly girl!
And ice cream sundaes for desert!
Then we all went up to Carter's school to have lunch with him today. He was thrilled to have us, and to get to buy ice cream on a Monday!
Carter came home to lots of gifts and a cake made by Ella and Mommy.
He enjoyed opening his gifts and playing with his new lego sets and video games.
We wrapped up the day by grabbing pizza at a favorite local place for dinner, then coming back home for cake and more playtime. I think it was a great day for him! His teacher and classmates sang him happy birthday and had cookies in his honor at the end of the day. She even showed several baby pictures of him on the overhead to the class! He's also excited to have his name called up on stage at the school assembly Friday, too! When I put him to bed tonight, he said it was his best birthday ever. And he's still got one more set of grandparents to celebrate with, plus a party! He's one blessed little boy, that's for sure. And so are we, for being his parents! SIX years! :)

A wonderful, sweet blessing for all who know him!
