I had a wonderful Mother's Day this year! Nothing better than celebrating the day with your sweet little ones and your own Mom! Here are some pictures from our day together.
Eric and the kids got up early to fix me breakfast. The plan was to bring it to me in bed, but that didn't quite happen. We had some severe weather roll in just before 7am.
The tornado sirens started going off, so we quickly found ourselves taking shelter in the laundry room until the threat had passed. That was a fun 10 minutes with all 5 of us (plus a dog) squished into about 12 square feet of space. HA! The kids were a little confused as to what in the world we were doing. Never really scared though, thankfully.
Once that passed, we went along with breakfast (pancakes and bacon), and I opened the gifts the kids got for me, and the cards they made. So sweet. They were so proud.
Ella helped by feeding Cole his baby food.
Later on, we headed down to a fun fondue restaurant for lunch. We met my Mom, Dad, and brother there.
Taking a few pictures with the kids before we were sat.
Being silly, as always.
By the time we got Cole over there, Ella was done. And decided to give us the cold shoulder. HA!
Me and my mom
Enjoying the cheese fondue. YUM!
Always happy!
The fondue experience
The kids favorite part was the chocolate, obviously!
Two handsome guys
Chocolate dipped rice krispy treat. Serious business!
Last attempt at a picture with my babies before trying to beat the weather home.
Creepy! This really bad storm went just to the north of us by a couple of miles. But we had quite a view of it rolling in on our way home.
We enjoyed the rest of the day relaxing at home. Cole has just started to pull up on things. I think this was one of his first times to do that.
He thinks he's such a big boy!
So proud!
Ella was dying for more rain so she could put her rain boots and umbrella to use. No problem there, we got plenty!
I enjoyed lots of snuggles and down time with everyone!
Perfect way to spend Mother's Day weekend! I am beyond thankful each and every day to be a Mom. Those kids make me who I am, and being a mother is so much more rewarding than I ever knew it could be!

Laney, you are such a good mom. I pray that mom's everywhere are as good to their children as you are. Looks like you had a great day with your sweet family. And thanks for being there for your Mom. The loss of our Mom is being especially hard on her. She has mentioned how you have helped her by just talking to her on the phone. So that makes you not only a good mom but a good daughter to your mom. Love you and your sweet family.
