Summertime, week 7

We are officially past the halfway point of summer, but somehow I'm still managing to do a descent job of keeping these 3 kiddos entertained! :)

Big boy Cole clapping for himself!
Love them!
He's now at the stage where he pushes the kitchen chairs and other random things around the house. Silly boy!
I was putting laundry away in Ella's room one day when Cole disappeared around the corner. Walked into his room and found him like this. Definitely nap time!!
His happy place.... the dinner table at a Mexican restaurant!
We went to a friend's My Little Pony themed birthday party last weekend and the kids enjoyed it! Ella got a "cutie mark" and awesome pink hair!

They had fun swinging at the pinata....

....and hoarding candy!
Singing to the birthday girl...
Amy made an awesome rainbow cake for the occasion! So gorgeous and so yummy!
I've taken Cole to two movies now (dollar movies, one with each of the big kids). Since he did pretty well in those, we decided to try to take the whole family to see Minions. The big kids loved it, and Cole did great! Watched a little and snoozed on me a little. 9 months old, been to 3 movies, and haven't had to walk out of one once, impressive!
Since Ella did one of her gymnastics camps last month, she's made big advancements in her abilities! She did a bridge by herself at home one day out of no where, and I couldn't believe it! I told her I thought I might be able to still do it, and gave it a try. Look at us!! ;)
Cutie pie has learned to drink from a straw. He loves it!

All cozy on the couch reading with my 3 little loves.
Ha, Cole!
This window and Stormie are two of his favorite things!
I know, it's hard to handle all the cuteness
"I love myself" is all that comes to mind when I see this pic....
More kisses for that cute baby!!
We grabbed chick fil a for lunch one day and brought it home for a picnic in the media room.
We've been checking out a few new DVDs each week from the library, so they have really ventured out and watched a lot of new movies this summer!
Great way to pass the hot hours inside, and making a movie new again with a picnic was fun for all of us!!

Making a mess of anything he can find! This is all my consignment stuff I'm getting ready to sell next week...... goodness!!
We called her Iron Girl. HA!
Still toothless!
I'm secretly hoping it will be a little while longer before his first one comes through..... seriously gonna miss that adorably gummy smile!

Found the TP stash!!
Attempting to climb anything and everything.
Ella entertained herself one afternoon with hangers while I did laundry. I had to laugh at her balancing act!
Enjoying the play area at the library one evening.
So cute!
Cole watched....
We got snow cones on our way home. Carter always eats it too fast and regrets it. He calls it "freeze brain".... HA!

Ella's version.... (she has no idea!)

Sweet boys.
My heart could just explode sometimes at the sight of the sweetness between these two.
Ella's cute people that she draws.
:)
Cole thinks he's such a big boy because I let him climb the stairs now with me behind him. Ella's cheering him on!
Making a mess of Ella's creation!
Tea party with my girl one afternoon

These kids played playdoh for 3 days recently!
Carter got really into the modeling clay at his art camp, so we pulled the playdoh out (haven't brought it out in a while), and they literally spend HOURS creating!
And the fact that they did it together with minimal fighting, so awesome!
Made me want to go out and buy all of the playdoh! (I may or may not have spent $40 on new playdoh stuff on Amazon.... high hopes they love the new stuff just as much after taking a few days off of what we have. We'll see ;)
Carter made me a taco and had to take a picture of me "eating" it :)
Cole made himself busy trying to climb up the kitchen while we playdoh-ed
Making flamingos.

Ta-day! Look at that sweet big brother helping her out!
We made squids, jellyfish, and octupus
Cole tried his hardest to eat it. It took A LOT of work, but we succeeded in keeping it out of his hands and mouth, somehow!
Cole loves to fly and swing and be thrown in the air!
Blurry because he's moving, but you can see how happy this makes him! So many giggles!!

Back to playdoh
Carter is so creative!
Ella and I had a girls movie night in one evening while the boys were away..... complete with popcorn!
Love her! All settled in to watch Home. One of our favorites. :)

While us girls stayed in, the boys went to the FC Dallas game. Carter earned free tickets from the library by reading so many minutes for the Mayor's Summer Challenge. Great prize, and they had a great time!! Proud of him, he's read almost 1,000 minutes now!

Doesn't he look so grown up?!

More fun to come this week!

  1. Wonderful pictures and comments, Laney. The folks in Canada the play a lot of games and watch movies during their long winters. We told them that is what we do in the summers in Texas. Carter and Ella look like they have grown several inches since we saw them in June. And the little cutie Cole just steals hearts with those dimples.
